"I’m thrilled to share my latest labour of love with you! This project has been both challenging and rewarding. What began as a simple composition check for a larger, more complex work evolved into something deeply personal. I found a real synergy between the story we see and myself. The two birds in the foreground might symbolise the past and present, while the two eggs near the horse’s hooves represent vulnerability and the fragility of life. The horse itself embodies life—strong, powerful, yet subtle. It’s a joyful piece that invites us all to connect with our emotions.
The painting is titled "Friends of Joy" and is inspired by the traditional nursery rhyme "One for Sorrow," A rhyme about magpies. In this rhyme, two magpies symbolise Joy, and together with all the animals depicted, the title reflects a joyful sense of camaraderie."
The painting measures 44 x 57cm/ 17.3 x 22.4" unmounted- close to A2. the work will arrive larger than this size to allow a framer to have space to frame the work properly, If you choose to add framing pease note the price includes a double mount, anti reflective uv glass and a range of mouldings for you to choose from (lead time 3 weeks)
