No.2 Sketch Series
"Dawn dusk" - Part of the oil sketch series.
✨ From the Artist:
"I am pleased to release the newest piece from my oil sketch series, this work has been a work in progress for a long time, originally started in 2022.
When I embarked on creating this piece I wanted to give a sense of warmth and presence you often experience on those early autumn mornings in the field. It is painted with an orange glow which invites the viewer to feel the presence of the morning sunrise on a crisp autumn day, the dawn chorus signing behind the horse as he walks over to greet you.
It’s special to me because it brings back memories of childhood.
I was totally immersed with horses, they took me away from a life I struggled with. They didn’t judge me based on status or an accumulation of material “things”.
They just loved me for me, looked straight into my soul and touched my heart with a warm breath on a frosty morning. Whiskers gathering little droplets from the crispy air.
I have never felt so understood and deeply loved than when I hugged my “loan” pony in the bitter winter days, hands numb from the harsh northern winds of the Pennines.
I often feel reluctant to share my deeper thoughts on works, It’s a core memory for me and I hope you can embrace that little girl for a moment too.
The name "Dawn Dusk" comes from the narrative of the painting, I hope this piece will hang proudly and bring you as much joy as it has for me creating it.''

The original piece was created using oil paint and is available with a white or black shadow float frame.

The original work has been painted in oil on a gesso panel board
This work is printed using a fine art printer, on an archival, matte, velvet fine art paper, I decided to change the print paper to a softer watercolour texture to really bring out the deep tones. The paper is very similar to a hot-pressed watercolour sheet which has a smooth soft velvet texture.
Every piece has an identifying number and is hand-signed on the front. Limited edition - once sold out it won't be available again.
Mounted with a backboard and cellophane cover, this piece is ready to be gifted or popped straight into a frame.
More information:
This artwork is printed with a fine art printer on archival, matte, and velvet fine art paper. I chose a softer watercolour texture to enhance the deep tones, resembling a cold-pressed watercolour sheet with its lovely velvet finish.
Each piece has a unique identifying number and is hand-signed on the front. It’s a limited edition, so it won't be reproduced once it’s sold out.
I now offer unmounted prints, but if you add mounting, your piece will arrive with a backboard and cellophane cover, making it perfect for gifting or framing immediately.
✨ About the limited edition prints:
Each unmounted print comes with a backboard and a protective cover. Every print features a handwritten identifying number reflecting its place in the limited release, along with the artist's signature.
Printed on premium, thicker archival matte velvet fine art paper, the quality difference between a standard print and a fine art print is striking. This limited edition run provides a gallery-quality experience. Feel free to check my shop feedback for more information on the quality of the prints.
✨ How are fine art prints created:
All prints are printed using a fine art printer, on fine art paper. The inks used to create this work are special art printing inks, not your standard printer ink, my prints have enhanced print longevity, they will last approximately 200 years in a photo album, 80 years on display behind normal glass in sunlight before they start to fade!
(Please look at the texture and detail on the images, it's such a beautiful fine art paper.)
A2 prints will have a longer lead time as they require printing from a fine art lab in London UK. ( Around 1 to 2 weeks)
Print size A4 with mounting fits into 12" x 16" frame. A4 image size is the UK standard printer paper size 21.0 x 29.7cm,
Print size A3 with mounting fits into a 20" x 16" frame. A3 image size is double A4- 29.7 x 42.0cm
Print size A2 arrives unmounted fits into a A2 frame. A2 image size: 16.5 x 23.4”
(When looking for a frame please search for the size above with no mounting, for example ‘’12" x 16" frame no mounting’’ it is very easy to frame just simply remove the protective cover and pop straight into the frame. Please feel free to message me should you need help when you have your artwork)
