"Tranquil" Limited Edition Morpho Print hand finished with 3D butterflies.

''This piece is inspired by three varieties of butterflies, with the work featuring hours of digital hand painting, to further enhance the original watercolour. The inspiration for this piece came from my desire to make use of my growing archive of butterflies, which I have been working tirelessly on, in collaboration with the Natural History Museum in London. This is a long term project which has been months and months in the making. No other artist will have the butterflies I photographed and archived, making the work truly special.

The butterflies I really feel compliment and further enhance the tranquility that this piece brings, hence the title.

I was drawn to use the blue morpho butterflies as they are truly magical and are organically becoming a trademark in my work. I have also used the Helena butterfly and peacock butterfly, of which you may notice the patterns used.

I have layered them over the original hand painted watercolour, then manipulated each one differently to show their wings. You may notice patterns and forms across the piece which belong to each butterfly. The more you look at the work, the more you will see!

After the digital editing, I then had the prints made on a textured, archival and matte watercolour fine art paper. To finish the piece off, each work comes with 2 handcrafted 3D butterflies - adding another element of energy.

The name "tranquil" I felt fit perfectly, as this piece was created to bring calm and positivity to the walls it hangs on. You may be able to spot the namaste symbol added in.

I wanted to create this piece to capture the complexity of my thoughts but at the same time maintain simplicity.

I hope this piece will hang proudly and bring you as much joy as it has for me creating it.''

This beautiful art giclee print is adorned with two 3D handmade butterflies. 

Every piece has an identifying number and is hand-signed. Mounted with a backboard and cellophane cover, this piece is ready to be gifted or popped straight into a frame. 

Print size A4 with mounting fits into 12" x 16" frame.

Print size A3 with mounting fits into a 20" x 16" frame. 

(When looking for a frame please search for the size above with no mounting, for example ‘’12" x 16" frame no mounting’’ it is very easy to frame just simply remove the protective cover and pop straight into the frame. Please feel free to message should you need help when you have your artwork)

A4 image size is the UK standard printer paper size  21.0 x 29.7cm,  A3 image size is double A4- 29.7 x 42.0cm

International A3 (ONLY) orders outside of the EU please be aware that your order will not come mounted, but presented with a backboard, cellophane cover and ribbon, this is due to the increase in postage costs once the package is over a certain size.
