Each piece within the edition of Mojo has hand-applied real 24-carat gold leaf, not imitation. I apply the gold with a special artists glue that is acid-free and when the glue has dried and I remove the excess gold- tiny little specks of gold are left on the piece as well as the areas with glue- (please see the images).
I seal it down with a UV matte varnish which also will help the inks stay vibrant, the inks used are also archival, meaning they will resist fading, I have gone above what most giclee prints offer.
I also seal each piece with a hand-poured C wax stamp alongside my signature and the edition name.
There will only ever be a limited run of 24 PRODUCED in the 24k edition meaning when they are sold out, they are gone.

The idea for Mojo came to me whilst I was in the south of Spain earlier this year, I was looking over the sea horizon and I could see Africa. I had just read an article about how the giraffe population has decreased drastically, with a lump in my throat, I knew I wanted to honour this iconic animal. The sky had some beautiful colours coming through so I took a photo and had the urge to paint a giraffe with the colours I had seen. I was sad to think that this graceful animal, in particular, the Masai giraffe had become so endangered and as an animal lover I wasn't aware, the purpose of this piece is to help highlight the issue. The name Mojo comes from Chester zoos own giraffe which was born and named Mojo this year.

Mounting- if you choose to have the piece mounted, the frame size you will need is 20" x 16".

International A3 (ONLY) orders outside of the EU please be aware that your order will not come mounted, but presented with a backboard, cellophane cover and ribbon, this is due to the increase in postage costs once the package is over a certain size.
